Our Young Explorers group is for young people between the ages of 7 and 12 and meets on the second Saturday of each month from 10am to 12.30pm.

14th May Evolution
Find out about this fascinating topic. The discovery. How it works and the evidence.
11th June Parasites
The weird and wonderful world of the living things that like to share with others.
9th July Flight
From insects and birds to aeroplanes. Find out more about how they are able to fly.
13th August Local Heathland
An endangered habitat. Find out about the creatures that live there and how we can help to protect them.
10th September Flowering Plants – part 2
Following on from pollination, we look at seeds, dispersal and germination.
8th October Finding the past in the earth
A metal detectorist talks about her interesting hobby and displays lots of artefacts she has found.
12th November Genetics
10th December Themed Christmas party
There will be 10 meetings over the year. Each meeting will have 2 sessions of about one hour each.
NB. Pre-booking essential.
Just £5 per Young Explorer per meeting with Adults going FREE.
Please note. We ask that the maximum number of Young Explorers per family group is 3 and also request that at least one adult stays with them throughout the sessions.
It may be more convenient to pay for 10 meetings in advance at £40 per Young Explorer.
