The museum is open to members, members of the public and small groups, on most Tuesdays 10am – 4pm (last entry 3.30pm)

[NB. Groups larger that 10 should pre-book by email ( or phone (01202 553525)]

Occasionally the museum will be open on other days particularly during school holidays (see above & Next Major Event).

Please read our guidance below before your visit.

Please note the following in order to reduce the risk of infections to other visitors, staff and volunteers:

  • Please do not visit if you or any members of your household are showing symptoms of COVID-19 or if you have been in recent contact with anyone who has it.

  • Please use the handgel provided.

If you would like to arrange a group visit for a school, college, university or other organisation, please contact us first.

We are open to everyone, but we are a charity so we do ask visitors to leave a donation, or why not become a member? Donations and member subscriptions are vital so we can continue to run such a varied programme of events throughout the year and maintain the museum building and its collections.
